What are the differences between flange butterfly valve and wafer butterfly valve?

The wafer butterfly valve itself does not have a flange, but is connected by pipe flange extrusion. It is generally connected with stud bolts. The flange butterfly valve itself has a flange, which is the same as ordinary gate valves. The function is similar. It is used for gas pipelines in the sulfuric acid industry: inlet and outlet of the furnace blower, inlet and outlet of the relay blower, electric demisting series and connecting valve, inlet and outlet of the S02 main blower, converter adjustment, preheater inlet and outlet, etc. to adjust and cut off the gas volume. It is used in the sulfur burning, conversion, and dry absorption sections of the sulfuric acid system. It is a good product for valves in sulfuric acid production equipment. It is considered by the majority of users to be: good sealing performance, light operation, secondary corrosion, high temperature resistance, easy and flexible operation, safe and reliable butterfly valve, and has been widely promoted and used.

The flange butterfly valve has a simple structure, small size, light weight, and is composed of only a few parts. Moreover, it can be quickly opened and closed by rotating 90°, which is simple to operate. At the same time, the valve has good fluid control characteristics. The butterfly plate of the butterfly valve is installed in the diameter direction of the pipeline. In the cylindrical channel of the butterfly valve body, the disc-shaped butterfly plate rotates around the axis, and the rotation angle is between 0° and 90°. When it rotates to 90°, the valve is fully open. When the flange butterfly valve is in the fully open position, the thickness of the butterfly plate is the resistance when the medium flows through the valve body. Therefore, the pressure drop generated by the valve is very small, so it has better flow control characteristics. Butterfly valves have two sealing types: elastic seal and metal seal. For elastic sealing valves, the sealing ring can be embedded in the valve body or attached to the periphery of the butterfly plate.
